The educational planning process has three well-defined time periods that each family should understand. During each period, my firm can help focus the family on the appropriate issues and work toward the goals of preparing the student, selecting the right college, and minimizing any financial strain associated with matriculation.

These time periods are:

1. Early Planning. This period covers birth through the end of the seventh grade.
2. Middle Planning. This period covers the eighth through sophomore years.
3. Late (Crisis) Planning. This final stage covers the last two years of high school.

During each period, your family and my firm will assess the size of any under-funded college obligation and plan a course of action to address potential problems. Naturally, the more time there is until the student enrolls in college, the more choices the family has and the more manageable each problem becomes.
